Worms in cat vomit

Asked October 25, 2013, 10:13 PM EDT

I discovered this pile of vomit from our cat. It appears to be a worm of some sort. Can you tell me what kind of worm it is?

Thank you.

That is a free-living insect larva ingested by the cat. The cat ingested grass to induce vomiting. The larva was to pupate into a cocoon and emerge into an adult flying insect. It is not a worm. It is not a parasite or worm of cats.
