Agave b Calamar

Asked October 19, 2013, 9:36 AM EDT

I live in Portland, zip 97215 and saw an agave b calamar that temps me. Would it survive our occasional cold winters? Also, how big is the mature size of this plant?

Calamar Squid Agave (Agave bracteosa 'Calamar') is hardy to USDA zones 8 to 10. It should do well in a container which you could protect during cold and/or wet weather. This evergreen plant grows slowly to about 4 feet tall. The full description of this agave Is here: http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/3154/calamar-squid-agave.php
