According to Triplehorn and Johnson, An Introduction to the Study of Insects, there are 41 species of bot flies, aka warble flies, in North America. MOst atach mammals other than man. Human attacks by bot flies are rare in North America. Some of the more common bots are the rabbit, horse (four species), cattle, sheep and deer.
