Is white mold in rose mulch a problem?

Asked October 8, 2013, 11:03 AM EDT

I have just cut back my roses. There is a white mold in the lower layers of the mulch. Do I need to do anything?

It's unlikely that the mold you mention will have any negative effects on the roses.

The following website discusses mold problems associated with mulch, but you haven't told us anything that suggests that detrimental fungi are present in your garden.
