Can we dig up hostas and save them over the winter?

We are excavating the area they are now in.

They will do best if they are put into a holding bed. They can be put in pots and the pot buried up to the rim or planted in a temporary location until they go to their new location. If you have a compost pile they can be buried there. They can be transplanted at any time.
