Star Roses

Asked September 12, 2013, 9:40 AM EDT

I am a nursery that carries numerous Star Roses. We seem to have some type of growth that we can't figure out what it is or what to do but it is spreading through our inventory.

Hi:
I can't quite tell from the photo, though it may be rose rosette disease, which is a virus and there is no cure other than destroying plants. Would you be able to send a sample to our plant pathology lab? How to do it can be found here http://plantpath.psu.edu/facilities/plant-disease-clinic/pdc-instructions

Thanks for the response!
Yes, we will send a sample.

Hi:
Ok. Also, look for multiflora rose growing around the nursery. If you find any, destroy it. It is a reservoir for rose rosette.
