This butterfly/moth has been hanging out on my sedum all day today. Do you have any idea what it is? I have never seen anything like it before. Thank you, any info would be appreciated as I have been unable to identify.

Your moth is most likely the Small-eyed Sphinx, Paonias myops. Its preferred host plants are birch, poplar and willow. There are several color variations.
