There is not a straight answer to your question because there are so many variables. The type of rice (white, basmati, red, brown...whole grain or milled...) will affect the answer as will any seasoning - salting rice will increase the length of time it will keep before it spoils as will many herbs. Furthermore, the type of cooking will alter the answer - was it microwaved, boiled, steamed... To give you a frame of reference, if you just cook rice by boiling and refrigerate it as soon as it is cool, according to the USA rice foundation, cooked rice may be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days or frozen up to 6 months. USDA recommends to cool to 70 °F within 2 hours and from 70 °F to 40 °F within an additional 4 hours. Hold cold rice at 41 °F or below for the time you are keeping it.
