I have very large poison ivy vines growing up my trees. Some has branches 5 feet long and stems 2 inches in diameter. What is the best way to get rid of these? I also have a small flock of chickens and ducks at the back of my yard. Rain runoff goes in that direction.

Cut the vine where it comes out of the ground. Paint glyphosate on the cut woody surface as soon as you make the cut. Let the vine die in the tree. vw https://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG34_Poison_Ivy.pdf
