Invasive Grass

We have thick clusters of an invasive grass. It's a light green chunky grass, how do we get rid of it?

That is not enough information to accurately identify the grass. It might be Japanese stilt grass, which is an annual grass. The best method of control is to prevent it from going to seed by cutting it in the fall before its flowers mature. There are also selective herbicides that can remove it from a lawn. It is so pervasive and the seed is everywhere so it is almost completely impossible to eradicate.
