Cardinal flies into windows

Asked July 19, 2013, 11:44 AM EDT

I have a cardinal that continuously flies into our home windows. It starts at daylight and continues throughout the day. He hits just about every window and has done this since spring. We have tried putting up pictures of birds or pictures of big eyes, but nothing helps. He will even fly into the pictures. Please help. It is driving us crazy!!

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do. He is protecting his nest and thinks his reflection is another bird. It usually stops after the fledglings leave the nest.
