Just planted a butterfly garden only to learn that a lawn service is spraying "pesticide", and putting up those little yellow flags. If I can't convince them to stop are there any that are less toxic? Don't even know why they're spraying. We are in a senior citizen complex.

Before a control can be recommended you have to know what you are spraying for. The pest or disease needs to be identified and become familiar with its life cycle. The lawn care company may be spraying an herbicide, fungicide, and/or an insecticide.
Contact your management company that may have hired the lawn care company for more information on what they may be spraying.
