Re: FIGS
Early on the my figs are fine. A couple of weeks after they start to ripen I notice little brown bugs coming out of the opening. Is there any way I can spray before the ripening begins to prevent these bugs from ruining my crop.

I live near Tyler, Texas.

You can use products like malathion, sevin etc... What you need to watch for is to be sure and read the label and check to see what the time period is between the time you spray, till you harvest. I assume that it might be 7 days or so. Check and read the label. DO NOT use a systemic product like Orthene!! That will go into the fuit and plant and is NOT for anything you plan to eat!

Your answer is very helpful. Thank you.
