Is there another infestation of Gypsy Moths in the Lewiston Mi. area? A lot of leaf eating worms have been reported.

It wouldn't surprise me if gypsy moth is flaring up in the Lewiston area. I know there are several spots of high density GM populations in lower MI this summer. Have you seen the caterpillars feeding? There isn't much that looks like gypsy moth - the blue and red spots, long hairs and yellow heads with black markings are distinctive. If it's gypsy moth, then the caterpillars should be finishing their feeding in the next week or two.
