What is chewing and eating the leaves of Knock-out roses? I have several that have been attacked and whenever I see these roses in other settings, I see the same problem. Can you identify the insect problem and recommend an insecticide to eliminate it?

Baltimore County Maryland shrubs

We are getting many reports of rose slugs feasting on roses this year. Rose slugs are the larvae of sawflies. There are three types, all green that blend well with rose leaves. Some eat on top of the leaf and some under the leaf. See our website information and control options in the Plant Diagnostics by typing rose slug in the search box there. Be sure you spray under the leaves.
