The brown spots on your Thai basil could possibly be from the four-lined plant bug. Four-lined plant bugs feed by inserting their needle-like mouth parts into leaves and removing chlorophyll. Their damage appears as small round, depressed spots which may be brown or black. Their period of activity is waning, and there should be no more damage later in the season. Small to moderate numbers of four-lined plant bugs normally do not seriously harm plants, and treatment is not necessary to protect the plants’ health.
