FERTILIZING PLANTS IN THE GARDEN

Asked June 11, 2013, 5:23 PM EDT

Is it good to still fertilize garden plants and outdoor potted plants when the temps are in the 90s? What is the best time of day to do the fertilizing?

Hello,

It would be best to avoid fertilizing these days when the temperatures are so high and the winds are drying everything out. Keep your plants as moist as possible for now and wait a few days. Cooler weather is in the forecast for the weekend and early next week. I always water and fertilize as early in the day as possible.
