How can I get rid of brown rot on my peach trees?
Brown rot has to be treated preventively with a fungicide beginning at bloom time. Sprays have to be continued up until the days to harvest date on the label of the product you are using. It is too late in the season now to begin treatment. See page 7 of the following publication. Look under 'spots on fruit' http://extension.umd.edu/sites/default/files/_images/programs/hgic/Publications/HG77_IPM_Series_Ston...
for additional information. We also have a publication titled 'The Home Fruit Production Guide' which provides the spray schedule. Send us your home address or call so that we can mail you a copy. Brown rot is a very serious disease of stone fruits in Maryland and trees need to be protected every growing season.
