Preference Rose Leaves - Yellow with black spots???

Asked May 20, 2013, 2:43 PM EDT

I just planted 5 Preferences Roses about 10 days ago. At that time, they had a few leaves that were yellow with black spots. I picked them off before planting the rose bushes. All the bushes have even more of the yellow leaves with black spots.
What is it? What should I do? Please, HELP!

I would think that it could be transplant shock and possibly some sort of fungus. Try a general purpose fungicide on one plant and see how effective that works. I would also try to evaluate the soil conditions and determine how much air flow they may be getting. Hot humid stagnant air will continue to promote a fungus. Hope that helps. Also, the TAMU plant diagonostic lab on campus can and will evaluate disease plant tissue but there is a fee.
