Fencing options for the farm, when costs and returns are considered leaves out all of your options except barbed wire. There are other options but you do not show them in your list. Also, all but barbed wire are best suited for level ground or land that has a gentle uniform slope. A guide to the basics of choosing a fence material is found at: , http://extension.missouri.edu/p/G1191 & http://extension.missouri.edu/p/G1192.

Another option is to use woven wire with the barbed wire.

The newest option that offers easier installation with really good security for enclosing or excluding livestock is the use of high-tensile smooth wire. It also offer a potential longer life. http://extension.missouri.edu/p/EQ379#fencing Some of the fences are built using for use with electric fence chargers, others have more wires place closer to be non-electric. We have very good chargers these days that are either plug-in or solar chargers.

Here are some other resources.
