i received some tall phlox roots from the audubon workshop on 5/4 and i planted them immediately some of the have come up but two of them came with what looked like just dead roots. i contacted teh company and they told me that it can take 4 to 6 weeks for any sign of life. Is this true.
Perennials such tall phlox can be shipped bare root and, consequently, will take weeks to get established and produce foliage. Since the soil is now warm, it might not take all of 6 weeks. As long as the roots were a light color and not slimy or smelly, they should eventually produce for you.
