Leaves have fallen off my landscape poinsettia. What should I do?

Asked May 9, 2013, 8:52 AM EDT

My poinsettia is an outdoor plant about six feet tall. It needs to be trimmed. It still has flowers and is looking pretty sad as most of the green leaves have fallen off. Any suggestions??

Poinsettia http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ep349 . Poinsettias prefer moist, well drained soils. Keep the plant mulched and well watered until established. Fertilize monthly, from March to October in central and south Florida and from May to September in north Florida.

Contact the Lee County Extension office http://lee.ifas.ufl.edu/ If you want someone to look at your plant. But I do suggest that you make sure the plant has the water and proper fertilization, then check for insect problems.
