relation of bloom to fruit

Asked May 5, 2013, 10:43 AM EDT

I've had an Italian plum tree (prunus domesticus) for four years and never seen a bloom on it. I know they don't fruit for several years, but it seems like I should have had some blooms. Do I start over with a new tree?

You don't need to remove the tree, just be patient. You should consider putting some boron fertilizer into the soil this spring, as it helps with formation of blooms.
