Raising Turkeys with Chickens
Is blackhead disease a problem in Colorado? I would like to put a divider in the coop between the chickens and turkeys and have separate runs for them, maybe letting them free-range during the day together. I do not have roosters. We live above 8,500 feet, near Conifer.

We do see blackhead in Colorado - not as much as in other states (like the southern United States), but we do see it. I have seen many people raise chickens and turkeys on the same property, but it is best to keep them in separate areas if possible to decrease risk of blackhead and other diseases. The more you keep them together, the higher risk you may have of increasing these diseases.
