duckling or gosling

Asked April 30, 2013, 4:32 PM EDT

I had asked a question concerning some baby waterfowl I was given, and the answers this site gave refer to adult birds. I have been raising birds for years now, including waterfowl, but these are different from any I have had. I was told they were ducklings by the person that bought them and gave them to me, but they are rather big for ducklings. They do not have any feathers yet—only yellow down. They are the size of adult ducks and nowhere near done growing yet. I will know what they are when they finish growing, but I was hoping to find out before then.

Do you have a photo of the birds? From you description, I would guess that they are commercial white Pekins. They tend to grow very quickly and have all the same traits.
