Spider burrow

Asked April 30, 2013, 2:34 PM EDT

I'm clearing my raised bed to prepare for planting and found this deep burrow in this last tuft of grass. It's hard to see in this picture but it has spiderwebs in it. Should I be concerned? Or just pull the grass and fill in the hole?

I can't see this clearly but it appears to be too large to be made by a spider. It is possible that a spider is using a hole that was made by something else. There's nothing to be concerned about in terms of spiders so pulling the grass and filling in the hole is ok if needed.
