Methane from drift gas and methane from hydraulic fracturing

Asked April 24, 2013, 1:14 PM EDT

Could you please tell me the distinction between methane from drift gas and methane from hydraulic fracturing, more from how they were created in nature?

Methane is the same gas, only produced two different ways. Natural composting and degradation of manure (human or animal based) and plant materials can generate methane. Larger farms can capture this gas to generate electricity. Methane can also become trapped underground, to be pulled to the surface during drilling.
