I think I have voles in my garden (small holes, no dirt mounding) I have had some plant damage, not a lot but I need to jump on this or I will. I tried a mouse trap with peanut butter next to a hole but seems to be ignored. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It does sound a lot like voles - and they can be a challenge to manage. OSU Extension has an excellent publication - PNW 627-E Meadow Voles and Pocket Gophers: Management in Lawns, Gardens, and Croplands - that can help you. You can read it at http://www.cals.uidaho.edu/edComm/pdf/PNW/PNW0627.pdf

Another good publication is from UC Davis and can be found at http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7439.html
