Ground cover in blueberries

Asked April 5, 2013, 8:19 PM EDT

I have 3 year olds planted on sandy loam. Soil test shows 2.2 Organic matter. Clean tilled. What can I sow in between the rows to increase O.M. and not get out of control? Thanks..

I would start with grass as a cover crop in the row. The turf will add OM to the soil. I would also suggest you mulch the planting rows especially around the plants to build organic matter there.
