spring fertilizing

Asked March 31, 2013, 3:23 PM EDT

I have about a half bag of SCOTTS WINTERIZER left over from last fall. Can I use it this time of year (April) for a spring feeding? Should I use this WITH/AND a regular "turf builder", or not at all ?

There really isn’t a lot of difference in a “winterizer” fertilizer and a summer fertilizer. It would be fine to use up the remainder of the bag you have when you apply fertilizer this spring. I feel the most important thing about fertilizers is to stay with the same brand. Each brand has different time release elements incorporated in the product, so using the same kind you get a more consistent feeding.
