killing moss around fruit

Asked March 30, 2013, 8:24 PM EDT

what is safe to use around fruit bearing plants to kill moss? We have a raspberry patch and we eat the fruit. I have used Tide laundry soap on my roof but I don't want to kill my plants or taint the fruit and am unsure what is safe.

I didn't know of any moss removal chemicals for fruit bearing plants off hand, and after further research through OSU and other sources I didn't find any recommendations either.
Moss can be removed with normal garden tools, but I'd recommend not removing the moss. The moss on the ground isn't hurting anything so if were my raspberries I'd leave the moss there as a mulch.
