Tree planting

Asked March 12, 2013, 3:25 PM EDT

I live just outside of the town of Hudson, we moved from NJ last summer and bought a brand new house with no trees, schrubs or grass. I am looking into Weld County to have our water tested so we can see what will grow with our water type. From there I am not sure where to turn to. Any help/resources you can give would be greatly helpful as gardening in the plains of Colorado is totally different then the green thumb I had in NJ.

Welcome to Colorado and yes, gardening is much different here compared to New Jersey. But all is not lost. CSUExtension has a lot of good information to help you acclimate to our unique climate. Here are some links that can help you get started. Then, contact our Extension office in Greeley for a more local approach.
