Apricot trees are mostly zone 4 or 5. The trees are hardy in our area to 6000 ft or so. The problem is they rarely produce fruit due to our late frosts. Apricots can be expected to fruit in Douglas County in 1 out of 7 years or so. If you would still like to try one you might try 'Moonpark', 'Moongold' or Sungold cultivars as they have show to produce better then most.

Apricots do need a pollinator so plant two different varieties of trees or a cherry and a plum. All trees need to be flowering at the same time to ensure good pollen transfer.

Good luck!
