Seaberry tree?

Asked February 27, 2013, 3:29 PM EST

I was removing a very prickly plant from our yard. It had orange berries. I was poked by the plant and my finger is slightly swollen and somewhat hurts. I was wondering if I should have any concern about it. I do not know exactly what the plant was, but after google imaging the description, seaberry tree came up. Any help and info would be super!

With potential poisonous plants ID is critical.
Take a good plant sample to a local native nursery or the Benton Co Extension office, 4077 SW Research Way, Corvallis.

This could also be a plant from bird droppings..

Infection is a medical issue so seeing a medical person is a good idea, but again without knowing the plant, a good diagnosis is limited.

There is a berry bush called seabuckthorn that has orange berries and very thorny.
Look up seabuckthorn on the internet for good pictures.
