Hi, Here is a link to our berry publication that suggests the best varieties of blueberries for central Oregon. http://extension.oregonstate.edu/catalog/pdf/ec/ec1621-e.pdf Several of the half-high varieites are sweet, North Country is recommended as being sweet with good flavor. I would recommend you read the information under blueberries for some tips on growing them here. The soil pH does affect the taste of the blueberry. It is also recommended to plant two different varieties to get a good crop. Here is a second publication that provides information on growing blueberries. http://extension.oregonstate.edu/deschutes/sites/default/files/ec1304.pdf This one is on blueberry cultivars: http://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/xmlui/bitstream/handle/1957/18937/ec1308-e.pdf If you have any other questions let me know. On March 16th, Bernadine Strik, the berry crop specialist for the state will be presenting at our Living on a Few Acres workshop here in Redmond at the Deschutes Fair and Expo. And there is also a berry class that will be on May 8th, more information to be announced. You may want to attend either one of these classes. Thanks, Amy Jo
