    Can you tell me what is going on with my blackberries? This happens every year and I get very few berries that are decent enough to eat. I cover the top of the plants with garden fabric before they start to ripen so it's not sunscald.

    I have lost two oak large oak trees in my yard and a third has dying branches on the top. A neighbors oak tree is doing the same thing.

    There is a constant area of sawdust-like frass on our deck below a high limb of a silver maple tree. The tree is otherwise healthy, although this summer there has also been a constant accumulation of brown leaves in general under it- tree is full of green leaves. Ideas as to what this/these are?

    What is this wild growing purple flower? #909896

    A weed-looking plant popped up amongst the rock border of our home, on the south side. I let it grow and now it's long spikes with purple flowers. I thought this was special, until I drove to the Linden Hills neighborhood by St. Louis Park, and saw it growing along many yard borders. In fact, it was so prevalent that people had pulled some up and heaped in piles. What is this, and is it noxious?

    weed filled strawberry patch #909891

    we moved to a location with a fairly large garden with a strawberry patch in the garden. The patch was at one point quite productive I'm sure but now is fill of weeds and quack grass and looks like the few strawberry plants are growing in a lawn. I would like to start the strawberry patch over and would like to know to best way to eradicate the weeds/grass short of manually pulling them. thank you

    Eliminate white clover. #909884

    Hello. Along with much of MI we have had a really wet summer and the clover in one of my pastures has taken over. I have horses here who when grazing it become literal drool buckets -completely wetting their stalls so I have removed them from that field and they are fine. How do I eliminate the clover in an environmentally safe way (we have a pond not 50 feet from)? I need this field as only 1 of 2 and the second one is not viable for long term use. I tried one broad leaf (mentions clover) pesticide and it just laughed at me. Help

    Box Elder tree - wood uses #909882

    Hello, I have a very large and gnarled box elder tree that I'm having removed soon. It has a few dead sections but also a lot of live growth. I'm wondering what to do with the wood. I'm thinking of a combination of using the wood chips for mulch all over my garden, using some for firewood, and maybe some for slabs. My biggest concern is pests, fungus, or diseases spreading to my plants and/or house if I use the wood chips extensively (pretty much all of my beds could use some mulch). Are there any risks with doing this? Thanks!

    Mold or fungus on crepe myrtle trees #909881

    I have two crepe myrtle trees in a location that doesn't drain well and I noticed how the bark and leaves have black on them. I also noticed that the branches have a white fungus growing on them. How do I treat this problem or who can I call since the trees are higher than my pump sprayer can reach. I live in Cape St. Clair Maryland.

    Spice bush swallowtail larvae #909880

    Hello,

    I planted spicebush seedlings in he spring to grow out for planting in the fall.  I had them on the patio in full sun, then moved them to the pergola (on the patio) to reduce sun exposure. Shortly after moving them, I was very pleased to see spicebush swallowtail larvae.  As they get larger should I move the plants out into the yard, so the larvae have better access to places to pupate?
