Are Dahlias that were never planted in Spring 2025 still good to plant in Spring 2026 in Howard County, MD? If so, what is the best way to store them?

We don't know how their viability will last that long out of the ground, so you may want to reach out to an organization like the National Capital Dahlia Society to ask about storage potential. (They don't seem to have a question submission form on their website, but do list a contact address: <personal data hidden>). Maintaining moderately high humidity around the tubers will be important so they don't desiccate. Some flower farms recommend tuber storage in the 38-50 degree F range, with about 75% humidity. In either case, tubers must be kept above freezing. The American Dahlia Society can be a good source for cultivation tips (the linked page is their general storage guidance), but we don't see a mention in their website about the potential length of extended tuber storage.
