Can you identify this plant (three pictures included of same plant) #881135
Asked August 12, 2024, 11:27 AM EDT
This plant just appeared one day in my yard many years ago and kept growing. It has no flowers. The leaves are not stiff. They are soft and floppy. It stays green all year. I transplanted it into a pot for the last few years so I could try out different light or shade conditions. I think it does best in some shade. It would help if I knew what it is so I could decide where to plant it in the yard. Thanks for your help.

*Editing original answer to say that there is a possibility that your plant is a Boxwood, but we can only determine this by seeing the plant in bloom. Boxwood doesn't usually seed around and pop up in landscapes, while Privet absolutely does.
This looks like the invasive shrub Privet, which definitely should be removed.
