Expert Response

The short answer to your question is, "maybe."

The qualification pertains to the fact that this lily is rated hardy to Zone 5. This means it will probably survive over winter in the Twin Cities area when cold is mild or moderate, but perish if severe cold occurs.

The following publication explains how to grow this lily.

Bulbs are available from a number of online sources.  They are unlikely to be offered for sale at local garden centers.  In any case, if you want to grow Lilium candidum, now is the time to order and plant the bulbs.  It may be helpful to use the alternate name "madonna lily" when shopping for bulbs.
