The ends of my Schip Laurel leaves are turning brown and dropping. I am concerned because it seems to be happening in several plants now. I have more than 100 planted around the perimeter of my property and I don’t want to lose them. Thanks so much for any advice!

Share more photos of the whole landscape and a closeup of the underside of a leaf. Any sign of insect damage, like stippling from a sucking insect?
The browning leaf margin makes me consider a water problem, which can be not enough, or root problems caused by too much water or a root/stem disease or poor planting.
It can seem like a game of 20 questions, but share all the details you can think of. When did this first show up? Is a plant with these leaves continually showing more damage? Are any plants showing damage to new growth, or is browning only on the oldest leaves? Is the root zone wet or dry when you check it? How much sun exposure, and does the damage seem worse on plants in more sun? When were these planted? Were they in pots before planted out? How were they cared for before planting? How were they planted? (Roots spread out? Holes back filled with native soil? Planted in compacted soil or topsoil?) Anything else you can tell us about the situation?
If this is a high value plant in your landscape, you may choose to hire a certified arborist to make a site visit. We will troubleshoot with you remotely though, and can often find solutions.
