What could be causing my gourds to turn brown before maturing? They are grown in a raised bed with other squash and the other plants are all thriving.

Squash and gourds, (and even pumpkins) are all related as members of the Cucurbitaceae family.
There are multiple problems that this plant family can have but given the recent very warm and wet weather, this is likely choelenifera rot, which you can learn more about here:
