Bees Living in My Garage #880870

Asked August 09, 2024, 3:50 PM EDT

I am wondering if you have any suggestions on how to get bees who are living in a whole in a cinder block attached to my garage. I do not know how many bees are living there; however, I would like to repair the cinder block after the bees have left. Do you have any ideas for how to get the bees to move from this area without killing them? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the question.

Unfortunately for me to provide you a good answer, I need more specificity as to what you mean by “bees”. Often when this term is used, wasps and not true bees are involved. There is a huge difference between the two with respect to removal procedures.

Please look at the following sites and compare the individual insects portrayed to what you are seeing in your garage. Pay particular attention to what are called bees and what are called wasps and hornets.

In the following site, look at all the pull-down menus:

At the following site, look under “Social Wasps”, “Solitary Wasps”, and “Bees”:

Thanks much for your thoughts. Ideally, things would be much easier for both of us if you could provide us with a picture of what you have in your garage.
