Verticillium wilt #880746

Asked August 08, 2024, 4:16 PM EDT

I have 2 maple trees with dying branches. From online searching I am thinking it is verticilliam wilt. I don’t know what to do about it or how to treat the trees to prevent it from spreading. Can you help me?

Expert Response

Unfortunately, this does look like verticillium wilt. Typically with this disease branches will quickly turn from green to brown and the entire tree dies quickly. There isn't any cure for the tree at this point. Removal of the tree may help eliminate the disease spreading to nearby sugar maple trees.

Good luck,
