Web like white netting showing up all over our yard #880710

Asked August 08, 2024, 1:35 PM EDT

We have been seeing this cobweb like ‘netting’ all over or yard and in other yards. It’s in the bark dust, some now on the lawn and in plants like our jasmine. It seems if we don’t disrupt it, it just spreads. What is it, is it something to be concerned about and what should we do about it? Thanks

Expert Response

Thank you for your question, Jim.  We cannot identify this without photos.  Several insect species, and even fungi, create what is described as "webbing".  Could you please attach some, preferably closeup and from a few feet away, showing where they are on the plants.  Thanks!
