Using soil tester #880653

Hello!
I am planning on turning an area of grass into a new garden bed. I want to first test the soil to see how it is doing (this is a new house to us). When submitting the soil test kit mailer should I mark “perennial flowers” since that’s what I want to plant or “lawn” since that is what it currently is?
Thank you!

Hello Paul
Congratulations on your new home!
You should mark the flowers entry on the test form. The test results will have recommendations for soil amendments for the type plants you plan to grow.
