What's most effective way to get rid of (kill off) Red Twig DOGWOOD Stumps & ROOTS so they WON'T COME BACK? PLANTED 1 ABOUT 15 YRS AGO. VERY AGRESSIVE ,& INVASIVE. CUT ALL DOWN, BUT CAN'T DESTROY. COMES BACK RAPIDLY, 5-10- FOLD!

Thanks for reaching out to the UNH Extension Infoline.

When dealing with very aggressive and invasive plants we often recommend using systemic herbicides like glyphosate or triclopyr, which when used properly, is very effective. For these, you can cut the plants down and apply a small amount to the cut stump. The herbicide will travel to the root system and kill the plant.
