mysterious insects? #880608

Asked August 07, 2024, 5:58 PM EDT

We apparently have insects of some sort in our condo, judging by the half dozen bites/stings I've gotten over the past month. The bites seem to happen at night, are mostly on my legs, and result in very long-lasting, huge welts that are unlike anything I've ever experienced before. OTOH, my husband apparently hasn't had any such bites, and there are no other signs of insects anywhere - not in the bedding or furniture or plants. Further, we haven't traveled anyplace in a few years so bed bugs seem very unlikely. Any ideas as to the next steps to take?

Thank you for your question.

Without seeing a picture of these insects, I cannot provide you a good answer to your question. There are just too many possibilities. Perhaps the following site might help you make an identification:

I apologize for my admittedly incomplete answer. If you could manage to get a picture of this insect and send to us, I’m sure that we would be in a far better position to assist you.

At some point it may be wise to consult your personal physician about your skin reactions?

Good luck. Thanks for consulting our forum.
