Hello Vicki
MSU Extension does not offer a soil contaminants test. We do have a list of labs who, in the past, offered soil toxin testing. Please contact one of them to check if they still do.The lab you choose will have instructions for you on how to collect a sample.

Other reasons that could cause plants to have difficulty are- compacted soil, salt runoff from deicing salts in winter, accidental spill of fertilizer or weed killer, gasoline, etc., dogs or other animals frequently using the area as their toilet.
If you have already purchased an MSU Soil Test kit, that will show you your nutrient levels, soil pH, organic matter content.
