Yes, this looks like a female black widow. They are wide spread and tend to be shy. We are not able to identify if it is a northern or southern species or specifically a redbacked widow.

You can confirm with your local extension office as your county and state is not set to Maryland.  A good way to find your local office is to go to https://extension.org/search/ and enter your county or parish name along with your state name. You might also use your favorite search engine and enter "cooperative extension" along with your county name.
