As my tomatoes start , the small green tomatoes disappear. Clean cut off, nothing on the ground. Is this from birds?

As my tomatoes start , the small green tomatoes disappear. Clean cut off, nothing on the ground. Is this from birds?

You are correct assuming the missing tomatoes are the result of bird damage. However, birds usually only leave peck marks in the fruit. If the small tomatoes were completely gone, I would suspect chipmunks or rabbits. A short chicken wire fence with a small mesh may protect your tomatoes.
